Wishful thinking about HD

A few days ago I wondered out aloud whether the World Cup would be the occasion on which HD TV finally proved itself. And what should happen yesterday? Four minutes into the England v USA match, ITV HD unbelievably cut to an advert and when coverage resumed we saw that Steven Gerrard was celebrating: those like me who were watching on Freesat HD missed the actual goal being scored live! The BBC as you can imagine are crowing about it today.
